STUDENT LIFE
Eskilstuna
The Kår on Tour is for students in Eskilstuna that want to join in on fun activities together with other students in the city. We arrange for example pubs, movie nights, travels and contests.
Keep yourself up to date by likeing The Kår on Tour on Facebook. (You will find the page by clicking the picture).

Qårhuset, at smedjegatan 32, is where the student union is located in Eskilstuna.
In Qårhuset you can find the student unions expedition and the student unions offices.
On the first floor there is a large pentry and dining hall that is used for both studying, eating and partying. In the “kårlyan” we often have movie- and gaming nights and we also have a conference room and a storage for the programme associations.
The future for Eskilstuna
We are looking at different options for a new student union building, but we don’t have any dates for opening yet.
Västerås

The student unions restaurant is located in Kårhuset (the red building at Campus Västerås) and is called Kåren. It is run by students, for students. Kåren has a café, a pub and a night club with student friendly pricing – and members in the student union has extra student friendly discounts. Kåren’s night club is one of Västerås biggest night clubs and have open on selected weekends. During the party nights the house is filled with dancing students. The parties have variation on themes with well selected DJ’s on scene. If you need a break from dancing, the pub is close by.
During the year, some program association have their own pub evening. The association decide the theme and arrange activities during the evening. Most often with special food and drinks according to the theme for the night.

The café manager is the person in charge of the café. The café manager makes sure that café assistants are recruited and get proper training, makes the schedule for the assistants and order supplies for the daily business. The mission is full time during one school year, 10 months. While working the café manager get monthly fee and is also rewarded with a temporary VIP-card.
Caféassistant
The café assistants work daytime in the café. The mission as assistant is payed per hour, which makes it a great extra job when it is easy to combine with your studies. In the café you can ether work as a regular assistant and work a certain amount of shifts per week, as a regular you are rewarded with a VIP-card during the time you work. You can also work as an extra assistant and work when some of the regulars are not available.
Serving manager
The serving manager is responsible for that Kåren is open during nighttime. They are on scene during opening nights, order supplies for the evenings and so on. They also make sure that there are kårare for every night and that the kårare is comfortable while they are engaged at Kåren.
As serving manager you get a lot of new experiences, noy only how to run a pub and a night club, but also leadership and communication. These missions are about 20 hours a week, which makes it a great extra job. As serving manager you have a monthly fee. The mandate period for a serving manager is one year, but you have a fee for 10 months.
During the time as serving manager you also get a temporary VIP-card, and after the mandate period is fulfilled you are rewarded with a permanent VIP-card.
Bar manager
The bar manager is responsible for the drink bar during pub evenings and night clubs. They mix drinks and prepare shots. The bar manager works a couple of shifts per months and are rewarded with a temporary VIP-card during the time they are engaged at Kåren.
Kårare
If you volunteer at Kåren during nighttime it is called kårare. They work during evenings at Kårens pubs and/or night clubs. As a kårare you can help in the kitchen, the bar, wardrobe, and cleaning. When you volunteer during the evenings you get free food and alcohol-free drinks during your shift, and you also get coupons at Kåren as a thanks for your engagement!
As a kårare it is up to you when you want and can work, and you write yourself up for a shift. To kåra is a very good way to get to know new people and also get some work experience.
Student terms
Ovve culture
The ovve (student boilersuit) is a symbol for the student life. It follows along on events and “abroad” parties. The ovve is not to be washed, it carries all the good and the bad memories. The only way to wash the ovve is to wear it while bathing or showering. A lot of students collect different patches that show what adventures they’ve been on.
Rookie symbol
During the rookie period (introduction weeks) all new students wear a symbol that show what student programme they belong. This makes it easier for all the faddrar (the older students) to recognize the new ones and make sure that everyone have a great start for their studies
Lambo
Lambo is a drinking game where students call on another student to drink up while others sing. The song is ongoing for as long as the student is drinking. The game is voluntary and is just for fun and games.

Beerpong
6 steady cups are placed in a triangular shape and are filled with optional liquid. You can play with one or two ping-pong balls per team. To settle who will start you play a round of rock paper siccors and the winner decides who will start.
When you throw the ball, either your hand or your elbow (depending on the size of the table) is not allowed to go passed the tables edge. From that the ball has touched the cup and until the ball has touched the liquid, you are allowed to blow in the cup to get the ball out. If you bounce the ball on the table before it hits the opposite players cup, you get points for two cups. BUT the other player is allowed to hit away the ball after the first bounce.
If you play with two balls and they both go into the same cup you also get point for two cups, plus you get to throw the balls again.
Depending on the table you can descide what to do with balls that roll back on the table. Usually if it does, and you are able to catch it before the other player you can throw the ball again with a trickshot, which is some sort of throw where you stile and make it harder for yourself. For example: throw under your leg, behind your back or bounce it against the wall. If you hit with a trickshot you get points for two cups.
If the player who started throwing wins (hits the last cup) the other player is allowed to play again since you both will have to play the same amount of rounds for it to count as a win. If the other player also hits your last cup, you will continue until someone wins the last round!
Caps
Get bottle caps without foil, big glasses, a lot of drinks of your own choise and a bunch of friends. Sit down in a circle with a legs width apart from the glasses that are standing in a circle in the middle. Every player fills one glass with their choise of drink. There is also one glass in the middle with a bit of everyones drink in.
The game is played like so that every player sits with their legs crossed and a bottle cap in their hand. The goal is to throw the cap in a optional glass. If you hit, the owner of the glass answeres with a return throw, if they miss they will drink and empty their glass.
Gas gas
Get a drink of your chosing, big plastic glasses, two ping-pong-balls and a bunch of friends. Fill all but two glasses with drinks and put them randomly across the table. All participants stand around the table. Two people on the opposite sides of the table start with one ping-pong-ball each and an empty glass.
You are going to try to bounce the ping-pong-ball once on the table and then in the glass. If you get it in the glass on the first try you can send your glass to whoever you want. If you miss on the first try, you send the glass to the person on your left once you succeed to hit. If you were to hit one of the glasses on the table with drinks in them you need to finish that drink before you continue the game. Your goal is to set your empty glass in the other empty glass and this can only happen if the person on your left has the other empty glass. If someone puts their empty glass in your empty glass you need to quickly take one drink from the table and finish it. After that you continue with that empty glass and the other stack of glasses goes to the person across the table. Don’t forget to play the song Gas Gas by Goran Bregovic while playing!
Treman
Step 1: Make sure to get some amount of drinks, anything works.
Step 2: Find someone who knows the game and join. Good luck learning.
Fia med punsch
Get a game of Ludo (the bigger the funnier). Change the game tokens to shotglasses or small glasses that fit on the board. Decide who goes first. Follow the rules of Ludo, but you drink what’s in your glass when you get pushed or if you finish with the token. Tokens that go to start are filled up again and join the game when the opportunity comes. The game is over when all drinks are empty.
